Agronomy Technician Trainees X 3 Positions
What This Position Is Abount
Agronomy Technician trainee position is a 1 year trainee program aimed to provide extension services to all farmers through field days and directly contact with farmers at each critical growth and production stages,Conduct regular farmer visits to ensure all farmers are supported as recommended in Minimum Agricultural Standards (MAS) to give accurate projections on volumes to be produced and maximize production and delivery of quality tobacco.
What You Will Do
- Monitoring crop performance and farmer compliance with recommended agronomic practices, identify field challenges early, and provide timely technical support or escalation
- Implementation of the agroforestry/barn and furnace initiatives as per plan,ensuring accurate data collection for system uploading and providing weekly and monthly written reports on all farmers.
- Establish the required grower base within the allocated growing area to meet JTI contracting volume and quality needs.
- Support the adoption of energy-efficient technologies and practices that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impact
- Support initiatives aimed at eliminating child labor and strengthening grower and community well-being
- Adhere to Information Management System (IMS) standards and internal controls to ensure accurate record-keeping, compliance, and reliable reporting.
- Ensure adherence to crop calendar standards by monitoring and supporting the timely implementation of all crop production activities throughout the growing season.

Promote and implement regenerative agriculture practices that enhance soil health, improve water-use efficiency, increase biodiversity, strengthen climate resilience, and contribute to long-term agricultural sustainability.
Who We Are Looking For
- University Degree in Agriculture, Extension services or a related field
- Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
- English (Speak, Read, Write), Swahili (Speak, Read, Write)
- Practical field experience through internship in the tobacco industry is an added advantage.
- Great communication skills and presentation skills

Ability to ride a motorcycle and with a valid driving license for motorcycle.
