MEDICAL DOCTOR

Job Purpose
The Medical Doctor will provide comprehensive medical services to patients at Besa Health Center, including clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, emergency care, disease prevention, and follow-up. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient consultations, medical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Provide appropriate care for outpatient and inpatient cases within the facility's scope of services.
- Attend to medical emergencies and provide appropriate initial management.
- Request, interpret, and act upon relevant laboratory and diagnostic investigations.
- Prescribe medicines and treatments in accordance with approved clinical guidelines.
- Monitor patients' progress and provide appropriate follow-up.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
- Participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, and other healthcare activities.
- Provide health education and counselling to patients and their families.
- Refer patients requiring specialized investigations or treatment to appropriate facilities.
- Promote infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement practices.
- Work effectively with nurses, laboratory personnel, pharmacy staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in community health promotion and disease prevention activities where required.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Health Center management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered and hold a valid practicing licence from the relevant professional regulatory authority in Tanzania.
- Relevant clinical experience will be an added advantage.
- Good clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
