The Coordinator ensures high-quality, safe, and prompt technical support, supervises field technicians, manages spare parts supply chains, and conducts system surveys and installations for productive solar systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solar Home Systems (SHS) Maintenance & Case Management

  • Case Resolution: Manage, prioritize, and assign technical maintenance cases to field technicians, ensuring service delivery within 48 hours or scheduled client appointments.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Provide remote technical support to technicians and customers, handling complex escalations transferred from Customer Care.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Design and execute scheduled preventive maintenance plans, analyze recurring technical faults, and update technical troubleshooting guides.
  • Cost & Logistics: Monitor technician transport costs against guidelines (targeting TZS 8,000 for eligible cases), coordinate spare parts replenishment, and manage warranty claims.

2. Minigrid Operations & Distribution Maintenance

  • Infrastructure Operations: Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for PV generation units, battery energy storage systems (BESS), inverters, and backup generators.
  • Distribution & Safety: Inspect low-voltage distribution networks (cables, poles, meters, protection devices), resolve voltage issues, and report unauthorized connections or tampering.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict electrical safety protocols, permit-to-work systems, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and safe disposal of electronic/battery waste.

3. Productive Solar Systems & Technical Projects

  • Surveys & Design: Support site energy assessments, load surveys, and system sizing (panels, inverters, batteries) for institutional and residential productive solar installations.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Participate in the installation, quality inspection, testing, and commissioning of independent solar inverter systems.

4. Performance Metrics & Team Leadership

  • Technician Supervision: Audit field work quality, track performance KPIs (resolution times, repeat fault rates, safety compliance), and recommend refresher trainings.
  • Data Analytics & Reporting: Track key operational metrics (system uptime, spare parts consumption, downtime) and submit analytical performance reports to management.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Professional Certifications

  • Academic: Degree or Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
  • Licensure: Valid EWURA Class C License and registration are required.
  • Added Advantage: Knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) is a plus.
