Job Overview
Tanzania Commercial Bank is seeking a qualified Senior Manager – Data Scientist to drive its data transformation journey. The successful candidate will develop advanced analytical models to inform strategic decision-making, improve customer experience, and optimize business performance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following areas:
1. Data Science Strategy and Leadership
- Drive the bank’s data science strategy and transformation initiatives.
- Align data science activities with the bank’s strategic objectives.
- Promote the use of data-driven insights in business decision-making.
2. Model Development and Advanced Analytics
- Develop advanced analytical models to support strategic decisions.
- Apply data science techniques to improve customer experience.
- Identify opportunities to optimize business performance through data analysis.
3. Data Infrastructure and Governance
- Support data infrastructure development and improvement.
- Promote effective data management and governance practices.
- Help ensure that data is managed appropriately to support reliable analytics.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify business needs.
- Translate business challenges into analytical solutions.
- Communicate data-driven insights to support informed decision-making.
5. Team Development and Mentorship
- Provide leadership and guidance to data science professionals.
- Support knowledge sharing, skills development, and mentorship within the team.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in one of the following fields:
- Data Science
- Statistics
- Mathematics
- Computer Science
- Engineering
- Information Technology
- Computer Engineering
