JOB DETAILS:

The Baobab Institute of Tanzania (BIT) is seeking a Tutor in Accounting & Taxation to join the Academic Affairs department within the School of Business & Management. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality instruction and preparing students for professional practice and certification in accounting and taxation. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Department and will be instrumental in upholding the academic standards of the institute.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, and taxation.
• Prepare lesson plans, course outlines, and assessment tools.
• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
• Supervise student projects and research.
• Participate in curriculum development and accreditation activities.
• Advise students on academic and career matters.
• Engage in research and professional development.
• Maintain records and comply with academic policies.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years’ teaching or professional experience in accounting or taxation.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Attention to detail and integrity.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
