Role Overview & Key Responsibilities
The Land Surveyor / Town Planner performs field mapping, boundary collection, town planning processing, and beacon erection to support Mkumbi Investment’s plot and farm projects across Dar es Salaam and surrounding regions.
Field Surveying & Data Collection:
Collect land boundary data for research, site planning, land approval, and official cadastral surveying processes.
Equipment & Boundary Operations:
Operate precision surveying instruments (including RTK machines) to stake out, coordinate, and establish land property boundaries.
Mapping & Beaconing:
Prepare accurate plot maps, boundary sketches, and oversee the physical erection of survey beacons on properties.
Planning & Disputes:
Handle Town Planning (TP) processing, architectural designs (for Town Planner specialization), file compilation for title registration, and assist in resolving land dispute issues.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Land Surveyor: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatics (specializing in Cadastral Surveying).
- Town Planner: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of practical field experience in land surveying or urban planning.
Age Requirement:
Candidates must be between 21 and 35 years old.
Technical Skills & Tools:
- Hands-on proficiency in operating RTK GPS equipment, total stations, and survey mapping tools.
- Knowledge of CAD/GIS software and Town Planning (TP) documentation procedures in Tanzania.

- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning for Town Planner role.
- Minimum 2 years of practical field experience in land surveying or urban planning.
- Age between 21 and 35 years old.
