JOB DETAILS:
Background
This role involves providing essential technical support for electrical and electronic systems, particularly on large CAT equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a wide range of electrical issues, ensuring the optimal performance and safety of machinery.
Main Duties
- Provide site-based technical support, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic systems on complete large CAT equipment.
- Diagnose starting, charging, wiring, sensors, switches, control modules, monitoring, lighting, and safety systems.
- Use CAT ET and SIS for fault-code analysis, calibration, testing, and technical procedures.
- Lead complex electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting activities.
- Support electrical work during component removal, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Verify repairs through functional testing and ensure wiring and connectors meet quality standards.
- Support warranty inspections, failure reporting, evidence collection, and claim documentation.
- Record diagnostic results, repairs, and recommendations in work reports and maintenance systems.
- Escalate repeat or major failures and support root-cause analysis.
Other Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in electrical and electronic systems, preferably on large CAT equipment.
- Valid driving licence.
- Strong electrical diagnostic, troubleshooting, reporting, and team coordination skills.
- Good English communication and computer literacy.
- Ability to work day and night shifts according to the roster.
- Knowledge of EHS requirements, risk assessment/JSA, Lockout/Tagout, and Stop Work Authority.
- Ability to follow working-at-height, confined-space, lifting/rigging, and fatigue-management controls where applicable.
- Ability to report hazards and near misses and follow environmental and spill-control procedures.
