Job Summary:
The Social Studies Teacher is responsible for helping students understand the world around them, including history, geography, and basic social concepts. The teacher will cultivate critical thinking about society, the environment, and the community (Local, National, and Global).
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Instruction: Teach a broad range of topics including History, Geography, and Community Life.
Local Context: Focus heavily on Tanzanian history, geography, and culture.
Student Engagement: Use maps, globes, projects, and field trips (where possible) to make learning tangible.
Critical Thinking: Encourage students to ask questions about societal structures and the environment.
Differentiation: Adapt lessons to cater to different learning abilities within the class.
Assessment: Prepare regular homework, class tests, and final exams.
Resource Management: Maintain an organized classroom with up-to-date maps and charts.
Qualifications & Experience:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, History, Geography, or related field.
- Teaching experience in Social Studies at the primary level.
- Familiarity with the Tanzanian primary school curriculum.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position based in Kigamboni, Kibada, Uvumba Street.
Working hours are typically Monday to Friday.
Must be willing to participate in school events and professional development sessions.
