Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Pharmacy Technician will support pharmacy and wellness operations by accurately dispensing medications, managing pharmaceutical inventory, delivering patient advisory services, and maintaining compliance with national regulations under the direction of a registered pharmacist.
- Prescription Dispensing: Interpret, process, and dispense prescription medications; instruct patients on correct dosage usage and potential side effects. Tanzaniaemployment trends
- Customer Advisory & Care: Assist customers with over-the-counter (OTC) products, health supplements, and general wellness inquiries.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, apply First-Expired, First-Out (FEFO) inventory management, conduct stock counts, and ensure proper storage.
- Compliance & Standards: Enforce strict hygiene, safety, and operational protocols in accordance with Pharmacy Council of Tanzania regulations.
- Administration & Record Keeping: Log daily sales, maintain prescription registers, and input records into the pharmacy database.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
- Licensing: Valid registration or enrollment with the Pharmacy Council of Tanzania.
- Experience: Minimum 1 to 2 years of practical experience in a retail, hospital, or community pharmacy environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of pharmaceutical products, dosage calculations, and proficiency in MS Office and pharmacy point-of-sale systems.
- Core Competencies: High attention to detail, strong ethical standards, effective interpersonal skills, and resilience under pressure.
