ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER

Job Purpose
The Assistant Nursing Officer will provide safe, compassionate, and quality nursing care to patients while supporting senior nursing staff and other healthcare professionals in delivering efficient services at Besa Health Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients and provide appropriate nursing care according to established standards.
- Monitor and document patients' vital signs and clinical progress.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments within the scope of professional practice.
- Assist medical doctors and senior nursing staff during clinical procedures.
- Provide health education and counselling to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing and patient records.
- Assist with patient admission, transfer, discharge, and referral procedures.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and promptly seek assistance when required.
- Maintain infection prevention and control standards.
- Ensure proper use, cleaning, and care of nursing equipment.
- Promote patient dignity, privacy, safety, and confidentiality.
- Participate in ward rounds, handovers, health education, and other nursing activities.
- Work collaboratively with doctors, laboratory personnel, pharmacy staff, and other healthcare workers.
- Perform other duties assigned by the senior nursing officer or Health Center management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a recognized qualification in Nursing appropriate to the position.
- Must be registered with the relevant nursing and midwifery regulatory authority.
- Must hold a valid practicing licence.
- Relevant clinical experience will be an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of nursing procedures, patient care, infection prevention, and professional ethics.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
