JOB DETAILS:
To safely and efficiently transport passengers and/or goods to designated destinations while ensuring strict adherence to traffic laws, company policies, and vehicle maintenance standards. The Driver represents the company's commitment to safety and punctuality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe Operation: Operate company vehicles (buses, vans, or trucks) in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic regulations and defensive driving techniques.
- Passenger/Goods Safety: Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers or the integrity of goods during transit.
- Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle (checking tires, brakes, lights, oil, water, and fuel) and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Route Management: Follow assigned routes and schedules strictly. Plan alternate routes in case of traffic congestion or road closures to ensure timely arrival.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the vehicle clean and presentable at all times, both internally and externally. Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance with the fleet supervisor.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate driving logs, fuel records, and trip reports as required by company policy and local law.
- Customer Service: Provide courteous and professional service to passengers or clients. Assist with loading and unloading luggage or cargo when necessary.
- Emergency Response: Handle minor emergencies (e.g., flat tires, breakdowns) professionally and report major incidents to management immediately.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- License: Valid Professional Driver’s License (Class [A/B/C/D] as applicable) with a clean driving record.
- Experience: Minimum of [2-3] years of professional driving experience (preferably in passenger transport or logistics).
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of local traffic laws, routes, and vehicle mechanics.
- Skills: Excellent driving skills, defensive driving, basic mechanical troubleshooting, and time management.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for long periods, perform basic vehicle checks, and assist with heavy lifting (if applicable).
