JOB DETAILS:
The General Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of the Company. The role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure the company achieves its business objectives, maintains high service standards, operates efficiently, complies with all applicable laws and regulations, and delivers sustainable profitability and growth. The General Manager will coordinate all departments and ensure effective collaboration between Operations, Fleet, Finance, Human Resources & Administration, and other business functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the company’s business plans, strategic objectives, and growth strategies.
- Oversee daily company operations and coordinate all departments to ensure efficiency, productivity, and quality service delivery.
- Manage fleet and transportation operations, ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, driver performance, fuel control, and efficient cargo delivery.
- Ensure safe and timely transportation of fuel and other cargo while complying with transport regulations and safety standards.
- Monitor financial performance, budgets, expenses, cash flow, and profitability in collaboration with the Finance Manager.
- Lead and manage employees, working with the HR Manager to ensure effective recruitment, performance management, staff development, and compliance with labour laws.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, licences, permits, company policies, and industry standards.
- Identify and manage operational, financial, and safety risks while ensuring appropriate controls and corrective actions are implemented.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, business partners, and regulatory authorities to support business growth.
- Establish departmental KPIs, review management reports, monitor performance, and provide regular progress reports to the Directors.
- Ensure effective implementation of the FleetX/ERP system and accurate updating of fleet information.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transport Management, or a related field.
- Proven managerial experience in the logistics, fleet management, transportation, or clearing and forwarding industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate the entire team across departments.
- Demonstrated experience in operations management and business development.
- Strong strategic thinking, commercial awareness, and ability to drive business growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of operational efficiency, financial performance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to develop business strategies, improve performance, and achieve organizational goals under pressure.
