. The communication, advocacy and partnerships (CAP) section at the Tanzania Country Office (TCO) has been working with the aim of expanding UNICEF’s leadership as a credible and trusted voice for children. It engages with stakeholders including the government, civil society, private sector, and media, to support shifts in public policy, fuel social engagement and increase private and public resources for children. .
. • Identify the most common (likely to occur) disasters in Tanzania, in specific regions and the magnitude of their impacts which would consequently affect the education sector. • Conduct a situation analysis of the education sector’s capacity to appropriately prevent, or respond to a given disaster, in terms of preparedness (infrastructure, human and materials resources). • Develop an emergency preparedness, response and recovery strategy which will clearly distinguish actions and commitments that are supposed to be put in place at school, district, regional and national level to get prepared, respond and recover from emergency. • Prepare a briefing note for emergency preparedness strategy which summaries all the key actions that are in the strategy.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
. • Advanced university degree in behavioral and/or social sciences, particularly in communication for development; education planning, education programming and or education management and administration;
• 10-15 years of progressive work experience in education planning, management and administration with proved competencies/knowledge of education sector emergencies;
• Relevant experience in inter-disciplinary approaches in strategic communication, and development strategies, good knowledge of tools and resources to address issues of emergencies in education;
• Strong analytical skills demonstrated in dealing with assessment and design of strategies/guidelines for complex education programmes; and
• Knowledge of local development and global advances in emergency programming in similar contexts.
