Job Overview
The Business Development Executive will support d.light’s mission by positioning its solar solutions competitively in a rapidly evolving energy market.
The successful candidate will be commercially experienced, with the ability to identify high-value opportunities, establish and manage impactful networks, develop new business opportunities across multiple channels, and achieve sales and revenue targets within the Cash B2B business.
The role will involve acquiring new customers, developing sales channels, nurturing existing accounts and ensuring a strong customer experience across all interactions.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Business Development and Sales Execution
- Deliver sales and revenue targets while maintaining optimal costs.
- Generate leads, acquire clients and convert business opportunities into sales.
- Identify new sales opportunities and grow the business by recruiting and managing commercial, institutional and distribution partners.
- Prepare and submit commercial proposals, tenders and bids.
- Conduct market research to monitor industry trends, competitors, regulations and emerging technologies.
2. Product Knowledge and Value Proposition
- Maintain strong knowledge of solar products, technologies and financing models.
- Effectively communicate product value propositions to different customer segments.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Logistics, Finance and Customer Experience teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
3. Performance Management and Reporting
- Track sales performance, business development key performance indicators (KPIs) and revenue forecasts.
- Prepare performance reports for leadership, highlighting results, risks and business growth opportunities.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing or a related field, such as Business Administration or Telecommunications.
- At least 3 years of experience selling products in a fast-paced B2B environment.
- Proven track record in sales, business development and winning new business.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with teams and strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage people at different levels of seniority.
- A valid driving licence.
- Relevant industry experience will be an added advantage.
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to meet or exceed expectations.
- Ability to demonstrate discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Interest in entrepreneurship, social enterprise, people development and understanding the potential benefits of clean energy to consumers.
