Job Description

The Finance Intern will support the Finance department in its day-to-day financial operations and assist in maintaining financial records and reports. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual seeking practical experience in accounting, tax, financial management, and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and processing financial documents such as invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers.
• Support daily accounting activities, including data entry and updating financial records.
• Assist in bank reconciliations and tracking of company transactions.
• Help maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
• Support the preparation of financial reports, summaries, and spreadsheets.
• Assist in budget tracking and expense monitoring.
• Help process payments and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Support payroll preparation by compiling and verifying relevant data.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Assist in preparing tax computations, statutory returns, and supporting schedules (e.g., VAT, PAYE, and withholding tax) under supervision.
• Support the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA: Upper Second Class (3.5 out of 5.0) or above, or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Progress towards a professional qualification such as CPA (T) or ACCA is an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally) is an added advantage.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
• Foreign language: Proficiency in a foreign language such as Chinese, Hindi, or French is an added advantage.

General Requirements for All Positions

Minimum academic requirement (all positions):

A bachelor’s degree with a GPA of Upper Second Class (3.5 out of 5.0) or above, or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

General skills (all positions):

Good organizational and time-management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, the ability to handle confidential information professionally, and a willingness to learn and work in a team.

Added advantage (all positions):

Proficiency in a foreign language such as Chinese, Hindi, or French.
