School Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Understanding and reviewing the way the school and all its departments function.
  • Point of contact for Parents visiting the school for inquiries.
  • Directing Parents to the right department.
  • Keeping an eye on students and teachers responsibilities.
  • Taking into account each teacher’s workload and extracurricular activities when developing class schedules.
  • Conducting research on professional and ongoing learning workshops and sharing these opportunities with teachers and other staff.
  • Attending meetings and scheduling appropriate staff team building sessions.
  • Ensuring fair allocation of budget and resources.
  • Keeping track of student successes and failures and preparing appropriate interventions.
  • Managing school security, caretakers, and other ground staff.
  • Assisting with the hiring, recruitment, training, and on-boarding of new teachers.
  • Establishing and maintaining good relationships with parents, students, and staff at other schools.
  • Preparing and submitting drafts of proposals, financial reports, and other documents.
  • Implement actions that improve the school and the quality of education (e.g. building renovations, new guidelines for students, new subjects).
  • Review and observe current teaching methods and learning materials as needed for areas of improvement.
  • Work with teachers and necessary staff to establish and uphold curriculum, school mission statement/culture and performance goals and standards.
  • Meet with parents and work with teachers during scheduled conferences to review school policies, educational activities/events and student performance while offering information on upcoming changes to curriculum, programs and the like.
  • Create, review and modify school budget and resources at least once a month. The job also entails looking for supplemental funding opportunities and grants at the local, state and federal levels. Draft, proofread and submit all financial reports according to latest deadlines.

School Administrator Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • Must have knowledge of Accounting and Book-Keeping
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, management, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as the ability to remain professional.
  • Proven experience as a School Administrator
  • Experience as an educator is a plus
  • Knowledge of administrative processes of schools
  • Ability to use computers (e.g. MS Office) and education management systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational ability
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Good judgment and decision-making aptitude
  • Degree in Education or similar field; post-graduate degree is a plus
