Halotel is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Finance Officer. The successful candidate will support financial management, accounting operations, budgeting, financial reporting and compliance with established accounting standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
The Finance Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
- Analyze, collect, interpret and review financial information, manage budgets, maintain accounting records and forecast future financial trends.
- Develop strategies to minimize financial risks and ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, internal and external audit recommendations, and Board directives.
- Prepare financial reports for management and provide advice on the financial implications of organizational decisions.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts, including journals, ledgers, trial balances and balance sheets, in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
- Enter accounting data into the ERP One software in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Prepare payment, receipt, contra and journal vouchers, ensuring that expenses are correctly charged and posted.
- Review monthly financial documents to verify that expenses are charged against approved budgets and perform reconciliations where necessary.
- Monitor receivables and advances regularly and follow up with responsible individuals to ensure outstanding balances are adjusted.
- Prepare payment advice for fund transfers, including wire transfers.
Qualifications, Requirements and Skills
Applicants should possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Ability to communicate financial concepts and processes effectively to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify financial discrepancies.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and email communication.
