CORPORATE EVENT/EXHIBITION OPERATIONS MANAGER

The corporate Event/Exhibition Operations Manager executes events while ensuring that all logistics requirements are carried out according to the event plans. He/she manages the event plans and works closely with other departments to ensure that all operational requirements of the events are fulfilled.

LOCATION: Dar Es Salaam
BUDGET: 1,700,000 Net
ESSENTIAL: 4 Years’ experience in organizing corporate Events and Exhibitions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Collaborate with event organizers to manage event delivery and Manage execution of event logistics plans to support project plans.
· Manage event`s budget by ensuring well organized, cost-effective exhibitions
· Develop final registration processes and protocols for events.
· Ensure events follow local security, Workplace Safety, and Health regulations.
· Lead negotiation with vendors to secure service contracts within the event budget.
· Manage adjustments to event programs to counter environmental issues and threats.
· Manage crowd control and evacuation plans with stakeholders such as the venue operation department and security agencies.
· Liaison with Exhibition team to take over and hand over of venues.
· Resolve escalated participants’ inquiries regarding the events.
· Review incident summary reports determining areas of improvement for event safety escalated on-site issues and security.
· Review vendors based on quotations obtained for the provision of goods and services.
· Review vendors' project deliverables to ensure quality standards.
· Supervise volunteers’ deployment at the events.
· Work with the selected third-party contractors to ensure smooth delivery of the events
· Ensure Exhibitor & sponsor liaison and ensure On-site operations management
· Post event reconciliation, evaluation & reporting

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALITIES
· First class communication skills both oral and written
· Able to manage suppliers to maximize their service levels and still maintain good working relations
· Strong budget management skills
· Experience in man management, coaching, and team development
· Strong planner able to manage complex tasks over a defined period
· Experience in report writing and management summary documents
· Good interpersonal, organizational ability, and time management skills
· Ability to multitask
· Attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure
· Customer focus is vital and good negotiation skills
· Willingness to work unsociable hours
· Imagination and creativity
· Ability to cope with pressure and tight deadlines.
