Job Summary:
The Chinese Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and age-appropriate Mandarin Chinese lessons to pre-primary and primary school students. The teacher will foster a love for the Chinese language and culture, focusing on developing foundational skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Delivery : Plan, prepare, and deliver structured Chinese language lessons in line with the school’s curriculum.
Language Skills: Develop students' oral communication and character recognition using interactive methods (songs, games, storytelling).
Assessment: Create and administer tests, quizzes, and oral exams to evaluate student progress; provide feedback to students and parents.
Cultural Integration: Introduce Chinese culture, festivals, and traditions to enhance the learning experience.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, disciplined, and stimulating classroom environment.
Resources: Utilize teaching aids (flashcards, audio-visual materials, digital tools) to enhance learning.
Reporting: Prepare end-of-term reports and attend parent-teacher meetings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Mandarin, Linguistics, or a related field.
- HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) Level 5 or above certification is a strong advantage.
- Proven experience teaching Mandarin to children (pre-primary/primary level preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position based in Kigamboni, Kibada, Uvumba Street.
Working hours are typically Monday to Friday.
Must be willing to participate in school events and professional development sessions.
