Effective loan recovery is essential to maintaining portfolio quality, managing credit risk and supporting sustainable lending operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of overdue loans to ensure timely and effective recovery in line with established targets.
- Engage clients through structured communication to follow up on arrears, negotiate repayment plans and provide clear guidance on available repayment options.
- Conduct regular follow-ups through telephone calls, client visits and digital communication channels to ensure adherence to agreed repayment schedules.
- Ensure all recovery activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date loan recovery records.
- Prepare periodic recovery reports and analyse portfolio performance.
- Recommend corrective actions to minimise loan defaults and improve recovery performance.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in loan recovery, debt collection or credit management within the financial services or microfinance sector.
- Strong negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage clients professionally and effectively.
- A good understanding of loan recovery processes, credit risk management and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using loan management systems or core banking systems.
